"I have a good home"

Tonight, Zoey & I were playing with a toy tool set, and she was wearing a construction worker hat and saying, "I'm Handy Manny!" (A kids show about a handyman, in case you're not up-to-date on children's programming)

Then she was talking about how she liked her toys and I said:
You have some nice toys, don't you?
To which she replied:
Yeah, I have a good home.

I have no idea where she got that from, but it did catch me off guard a little. She's a smart cookie, that girl. :)

"Frozen" Saturday with Addy

Addy slept over this Saturday, and we had a fun day planned for the girls!!

First, I had gotten some hair extensions in the mail for Zoey's Halloween costume  – she's going to be Elsa, like half of all little girls her age. In case you're not familiar, this is Elsa:
I thought the long braid would be fun for the costume, and there are some Elsa wigs for sale, but they look kind of cheesy:

and I thought that Zoey would probably find it to be annoying, and not wear it.

When we first tried the extensions on Zoey didn't like them, but then...Addy to the rescue! Addy convinced her that they were super cool, and before long, Zoey had a long beautiful braid that she was admiring in the mirror:

Then the girls got into the dress-up clothes that I had recently gotten a great deal on. I was much more excited about them than Zoey was, but I knew that Addy would share my enthusiasm. Within a few minutes of walking in, Addy was already picking something out. She eventually settled on being a pirate. Since Addy was excited about the dress-up clothes, Zoey now thought they were super cool too, and she was a princess:

Then Addy sweetly asked if she could maybe have an Elsa braid too. Luckily, I'd ordered two packs of extensions, so we quickly got her fixed up with one too. Now she was an Elsa pirate:

Later that night we headed to the Mall of America to meet up with some college friends that were in town with their families. The girls agreed to leave the costumes at home, but both wore their braids to the mall. On the way there, they sang along to the Frozen soundtrack.
Zoey brought "Baby Scottie" (full name: Scott Gerald) with her to the mall.
She adopted him from her Aunt Siri (meaning he's nearly 30 years old!)

They both hitched a ride on the stroller to get into the mall, but after that, Addy rode and Zoey walked/ran throughout the mall with her blonde braid flying behind her.

After dinner at Sky Deck and a million games of Skee-ball, it was off to the Disney store!
That's Zoey watching Frozen (of course!) in the foreground
Addy helped me pick out a birthday present for their cousins' (Annika and Elise) birthday party the next day. Then the girls each picked out a toy. Zoey picked the Olaf snowman she is holding in the picture, and Addy picked out a set of Frozen figurines.

After we left, Zoey got a little jealous of Addy's figurines, and being the sweetheart that she is, Addy immediately shared 2 of them with Zoey – without any adult intervention!

Both girls fell asleep on the drive home. Which, now that we live in the Grove, is a pretty long drive from MOA! We thought they were down for the night, but boy were we wrong! As soon as we got home, they both perked up, and asked to watch a movie and have popcorn. We watched Frozen (of course!) and the night ended up with the girls sleeping in bed with me and Jay & Lucky downstairs on the couch.

Arbor Dash 5K

This weekend, my Mom & I ran a 5K in Maple Grove. Grandpa Bill (Bumpa) came up for the weekend too, and Zoey had a great time!

Before the run, in our fancy yellow shirts
Asking the Angel of Hope for a little luck before the run ;)
Watching the big kids run in the Kids 1K with Bumpa

Zoey decided to run in the 1K for her age group.
The first half went well, but after the turn a little boy stepped in front of her...
and her running career was over.

She quickly recovered and enjoyed the parachute with Bumpa
and did a little dancing...

But was not impressed by some girls singing the song from Frozen.
Fast-forward to about 0:50, and look on her face is great.

Getting an airbrush tattoo!
She picked a Superman tattoo, like Grandma's!
The woman that did the tattoo said it was first time
she'd had a request for a tattoo like Grandma's. :)
Mommy & Grandma are almost done!
Crossing the finish line with Zoey!
Afterward, Bumpa bought Zoey a big bear, now named, "Fuzzy"
and one more pic from the weekend, picking Tomatoes without any pants on:

Sunday Funday in the 'burbs

First, Lucky loves living in the 'burbs, and his favorite thing to do is bake in the sun on our deck:

But he always lays on a cushion, he's too posh to lay on the ground.

Jay has decided to continue using our deck as a second living room for as long as possible, so this Sunday, he put a TV outside so we could watch football out there!

Needless to say, the Kids (and Mommy & Daddy) loved it!

Sunday Brunch

Zoey's ready for Sunday Brunch, looking like a sweet little lady:

Lucky was sad that he didn't get to go

She loves pancakes and Orange Juice!

GO PACK GO!

Zoey & Lucky are ready to watch the first game of the season!!

They were so into the game that they couldn't take their eyes off the TV to look at me. :)
